|
Five times British Ladies Ice Skating Champion and 8th in Europe Jenna McCorkell
will be arriving back in Britain soon to continue her competitive career with coach
Yuri Bureiko, AKR Promotions officially announced today Friday 13th June 2008.
Karin Rowlands who is Jenna's PR Consultant commented:
'Jenna has always maintained, as part of her training, her connection to Yuri
Bureiko, who was her full-time coach from the age of 14 years until two years ago.
In fact Yuri has continued to work on various aspects of both her programmes last
season as well as Kevin's and other top skaters from around the country and indeed
further afield. To be based in Coventry again makes sense for Jenna for a variety
of reasons, her permanent home will be in Belgium of course, but her training base
will now be split between Belgium and Coventry, this will make meeting relatives
from 'back home' much more accessible as well. Jenna has learned so much from coach

Arena Group book Classique 05/06/08

On Saturday June 28th, Coventrys biggest and most established club brand
will be hosting the Citys biggest ever dance music event at the 3000
capacity Skydome Arena. During the past 3 years Classique has built up a
fanatical following of clubbers travelling to the city from as far afield as
Bristol and Liverpool to attend events at our various locations. The brand
first began at the 200 capacity Glasshouse venue in the bullyard in 2005,
however soon outgrew this, and had to move homes to the newly opened Mbargo
Club at the Skydome.
Since then, the Club has played host to some of the world most prestigious
dance music artists including Boy George, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes and Dave
Pearce to name but a few. Last September saw the club brand celebrate its
second birthday at the Skydome Arena, and internationally acclaimed DJ /
Producer Paul Oakenfold flew in from LA to join Judge Jules and Classique
founder Paul Morrell as well as a host of others on the decks. Filling an
Arena usually used as an ice skating rink seemed a bit of a daunting task,
however Saturday September 29th 2007 proved to be one of the most successful
dance events ever held within Coventry since the closure of the Eclipse,
with over 2500 people in attendance.
Saturday June 28th sees Classique return to the Skydome Arena, for what
looks set to be our best event to date, with a stellar lineup of artists,
usually associated with far more established club brands such as Godskitchen
or Gatecrasher on offer. Headlining this event will be one of the pioneers
of the electronic trance music genre, Mauro Picotto, who is flying in from
Italy especially for the event. Picotto has had a great deal of chart
success, and like Oakenfold is used to filling stadiums rather than clubs.
Picottos most notable chart success "Lizard" is still one of the biggest
dance anthems of all time, and appears on virtually every dance compilation
released.
Second on the bill is former BBC Radio 1 dance show presenter and Cream
resident DJ Seb Fontaine. Seb is a firm favorite with clubbers the world
over and regularly works as a producer with the likes of American DJs Eric
Morillo & Armand Van Helden.
Irish duo Agnelli & Nelson (Also flying in), who have recently enjoyed a
dance chart No.1 position with their remix of John OCallaghans track "Big
Sky" will open the event at 8:00pm followed by one of the biggest Female DJs
in the world "Anne Savage". Savage, who shot to fame after appearing on
channel fours "Faking It" documentary series, is still regarded as one of
the most hard working females in the industry, and her relentless DJ
schedual certainly reinforces this. In order to enhance the lineup further,
Anne will play back to back with one of the pioneers of UK Hard Dance, BK.
BK (AKA Ben Keen) has headlined events around the world for Ministry of
Sound, Gatecrasher and Sundissential.
Coventry based DJ / Producer and owner of Classique Paul Morrell will then
follow BK and Anne Savage before Picotto takes to the decks. Morrell who has
also recently achieved top dance chart postions with his remixes for fellow
Coventrian Lisa Lashes and London Based DJ Ariel, is rapidly becoming one of
the UKs hottest names, playing sets for Judge Jules at his Ibiza night
Judgement Sunday, and at Air in Birmingham. His own production "Lights Out"
was also featued as Judge Jules "Tried and Tested" record on his BBC Radio 1
show 4 weeks in a row.
As well as state of the art lighting and sound system, this year our event
will be made even more spectacular by the addition of a second room. To
offer a differing musical genre for lovers of more funky / electro house
orientated music, our adjoining venue Mbargo (the usual monthly home of
Classique) will be transformed into a funky and electro emorium, headlined
by East london based Duo "Hoxton Whores". The Hoxtons have remixed work for
artists such as Dido, Faithless, Deep Dish and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Joining them will be Cream resident John Kelly, former S Express frontman
Mark Moore, and Billie Ray Martin, whos hit "Your Loving Arms" is also due
for rerelease this year.
These headliners will also be joined by up & coming local tallent Summers &
Kato, and Steve Arnold, who also regularly warm up for the headline Artists
at our monthly Classique Events.
Classique will also be holding major events this summer in Ibiza and The
Isle of Wight, featuring artists such as Judge Jules and Lisa Lashes to name
but a few.
Tickets for this event are available from the Skydome Arena Box Office
(Planet Ice), Garb Clothing in Shelton Square Coventry, or online at
WWW.ILOVECLASSIQUE.COM at a price of ?15. The event begins at 8:00pm and we
are expecting a capacity crowd, so ticket purchase is advisable well in
advance.
