NISA Awards Planet Ice for Excellence
Planet Ice are absolutely delighted with the announcement by the National Ice Skating Association [NISA] that the biggest skating brand in the UK has now been rewarded with a new landmark award for excellence. The new initiative launched on March 2nd 2009 acknowledges rinks that demonstrate a very high commitment to the NISA flagship Learn to Skate programme called SKATE UK.
Planet Ice spokesman commented ‘We take Learning to Skate very seriously in the sense of course content, its delivery to our customers, and the nationally recognised award scheme that supports SKATE UK. Planet Ice have been told of the award and are making plans with local dignatories for an officially unveiling of the plaque’.
Planet Ice currently deliver SKATE UK into there buildings at Basingstoke, Coventry, Cardiff, Hemel Hempstead, Gosport, Isle of Wight, Peterborough, and Milton Keynes. A six weeks course costs around £60 and is delivered in 30 minutes sessions over 6 weeks.
Unlike other skating courses SKATE UK is delivered in 10 stages by NISA recognised coaches who complete detailed CRB checks. The Learn to Skate programme emphasises fun and continuous movement and is taught in a group format for beginners of all ages with an accent on fundamental movement and basic skills.
SKATE UK has a fantastic award scheme which includes badges, certificates, and medals along with other skating related merchandise. The schemes boasts a 12 month membership too which gives members access for 6 weeks to online skating tutorials which ca show budding skaters through all the moves required to complete the 10 stages. SKATE UK members can also benefit from a 10% discount on purchases made from the association shop found at nisastore.org.uk.
